What you will do

• Lead seismic compliance and certification for low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment.
• Plan and execute seismic qualification programs according to ICC-ES AC156, IBC, UBC, and IEEE 693 standards.
• Manage HCAi seismic preapprovals and collaborate with Structural Engineers of Record (SEOR) and AHJs.
• Coordinate the design, fabrication, and analysis of seismic test articles and support shake table testing.
• Design and optimize structural components, including equipment skids, frames, enclosures, and modular power solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on anchorage, load paths, vibration, and transport-related considerations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required (California licensure strongly preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in structural engineering focused on seismic design and nonstructural component qualification.
• Demonstrated experience with HCAi preapproval processes.
• Strong working knowledge of ICC-ES AC156, IBC, UBC, and IEEE 693.
• Must be based in the US.
