Senior Software Engineer, AI Agentic Experience (Auth0) (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California; hybrid role with an in-person onboarding experience

Annual base salary: $159,000–$239,000 USD for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area

What you will do

• Design and build developer tooling for securing and managing infrastructure such as MCP servers.
• Build demonstration applications for secure, identity-powered AI use cases.
• Develop adapters, utilities, and interfaces for AI agent runtimes and orchestration frameworks.
• Contribute to open source projects and maintain documentation, API references, quickstarts, and best practices.
• Collaborate with design, product, and security teams on developer needs, roadmap direction, and compliance.
• Mentor engineers, influence architecture, and improve the resilience and security of agent-to-agent and model-to-service communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building tools, frameworks, or platforms for developers.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python, with the ability to work across frontend and backend contexts.
• Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems, including OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Experience leading architecture and design for scalable, production-grade systems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute to open source projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, FastAPI, model APIs, prompt management systems, agent toolkits, or Auth0 technologies such as Token Vault, Async Authorization, and Fine-Grained Authorization.
