Business Leader - Walloon (Fire Engineering)

Location: Based in Liège, Belgium, with hybrid flexibility as the office is established; travel across Wallonia, wider Belgium, and occasionally Europe is required.

What you will do

• Establish and operate the new Liège office, including local networking and commercial activity.
• Lead fire and life safety consulting projects across Wallonia and Belgium.
• Develop technical fire safety solutions, strategies, reports, and regulatory compliance advice.
• Build client relationships, identify market opportunities, prepare proposals and bids, and deliver client presentations.
• Coordinate with Belgian and European technical teams to deliver high-quality consulting work.
• Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of junior engineers as the office grows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in fire safety engineering or technical consulting, including fire protection engineering, fire strategy, performance-based design, or risk-informed engineering.
• Experience developing client relationships, winning new work, and supporting business development or market expansion.
• Strong understanding of Belgian fire safety regulations and standards, ideally including Walloon requirements.
• Fluency in French is essential; good command of English is required.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, organisational, analytical, and commercial skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Dutch.
• Experience setting up or leading a regional office.
• Experience in the Walloon market.
