What you will do

• Design plastic injection molded parts, electro-mechanical assemblies, and body-worn enclosures meeting IP66/67 and EMI/RF standards.
• Utilize 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Creo) and CAE tools (FEA, CFD, mold flow) for simulation and verification.
• Create 2D drawings per ASME Y14.5, perform tolerance analysis, and process engineering change orders.
• Participate in design reviews, project planning, and technical feasibility studies for new products.
• Conduct failure investigations, root cause analysis, DOE, and support supplier validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, project management, and coach co-ops.

Requirements

• Based in Pittsburgh, PA; occasional travel required.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or Associate’s with 10+ years experience); minimum 8 years in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Creo), PLM/PDM (Windchill), FEA (ANSYS).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal), GD&T, and ASME Y14.5.
• Excellent communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to meet physical demands: constant standing, walking, lifting, repetitive motions.
