What you will do

• Architect and build scalable data products, APIs, and serving layers that power the Healthcare Map.
• Implement high-performance data processing patterns using SQL, Python, Spark, Rust, and C++.
• Create shared data models, productized datasets, and technical standards for downstream teams.
• Lead complex, multi-quarter initiatives, managing trade-offs between scalability, cost, and reliability.
• Define and implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and observability to ensure product trust.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and architectural guidance to elevate overall code quality.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building production-grade, large-scale data products and analytical systems.
• Strong technical depth in SQL, distributed data processing, and high-scale compute frameworks (Spark, Python, Rust, or C++).
• Proven ability to design data models and system architectures for complex, high-volume environments.
• Experience designing data workflows and feature pipelines to support AI/ML training and inference.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Proficiency in using AI-augmented engineering tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Claude) to improve productivity.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data (claims, clinical, RWE) and coding systems like ICD-10, CPT, or RxNorm.
• Experience building data products consumed by external customers or via APIs.
• Background operating in high-growth or ambiguous environments.
