What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable financial systems including real-time balances, payments, FX, and credit capabilities.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features and systems from design to production.
• Contribute to architectural decisions to evolve the platform for rapid growth.
• Collaborate with Product stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve engineering standards and practices.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Backend Engineer building scalable and reliable systems.
• Experience with complex products in payments, financial systems, or high-reliability environments.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system design fundamentals.
• Fluent Spanish and working proficiency in English.
• Must be based in Madrid for a hybrid setup.
• Background in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience in FinTech, banking, or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, and data protection practices.
• Experience working with high-scale or high-availability systems.
