Head of Insurance & Business Risk (AI): Own the full corporate insurance program end-to-end across all lines including D&O, cyber, tech E&O, and Property & Casualty, assessing risk landscape and developing mitigation strategies with an accent on emerging AI risks. Focus on centralizing ownership from stakeholders, building carrier relationships, and embedding AI tools like Claude in risk workflows.

Location: San Francisco, CA | New York City, NY | Seattle, WA. Location-based hybrid policy: expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. Visa sponsorship available, with reasonable efforts to support.

Annual Salary: $300,000 - $370,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the full corporate insurance program including renewals, claims, and broker relationships across all lines.
• Centralize insurance ownership from Legal, Facilities, Security, Product, Policy, and Research stakeholders.
• Meet with business leaders to surface emerging risks and design coverage or alternative strategies.
• Build relationships with carriers, underwriters, and regulators to shape AI-specific risk approaches.
• Decide holistically on risk transfer methods like insuring, self-insuring, captives, or operational mitigation.
• Embed Claude in insurance workflows from exposure modeling to renewal preparation.

Requirements

• Owned full corporate insurance program including renewals, claims, broker management, and board reporting.
• Deep technical knowledge of coverage structure, exclusions, and pricing across major lines.
• Built or significantly rebuilt a risk function.
• Holistic thinking on risk transfer, knowing when not to buy a policy.
• Comfortable in fast-growing company pace, additive to business.
• Point of view on structuring coverage for novel, unpriced risks.

Nice to have

• Experience with data center, hyperscaler, or neocloud property and business interruption risk.
• Captive formation or management experience.
• Broker-side background brought in-house at fast-growing company.
• Direct engagement with regulators or carriers on novel risks.
