Location: Remote in the Czech Republic (upcoming hybrid setup in Brno)

What you will do

• Translate business problems into AI-powered search and retrieval solutions.
• Design and build hybrid search systems combining keyword (BM25) and semantic/vector search.
• Develop and optimize retrieval pipelines used in RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) and AI-driven applications.
• Build scalable pipelines for document ingestion, indexing, embedding generation, and search ranking.
• Implement AI-powered services that combine LLMs with search infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cloud operations to deploy and monitor AI search services for latency and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in backend systems or search infrastructure.
• Experience building search or retrieval systems for large document stores.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or similar search platforms.
• Strong Python development skills and experience building scalable data infrastructure for production SaaS.
• Experience implementing hybrid search combining keyword-based retrieval with vector embeddings.
• Must be based in the Czech Republic (hired through an EOR partner).

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, or FAISS.
• Background in information retrieval, search relevance engineering, or building RAG systems.
• Experience working with LLMs and retrieval-augmented architectures.
• Familiarity with large-scale document processing (OCR, structured extraction).
• Exposure to the fintech or legal industry.
