What you will do

• Own and lead the business-critical Messaging Platform responsible for all outbound communication.
• Build and evolve a shared, multi-channel messaging backbone to abstract provider complexity from product teams.
• Translate engineering strategy into an outcome-driven roadmap balancing reliability and new capabilities.
• Drive operational excellence through improved monitoring and incident response.
• Collaborate with Product and Platform teams to maximize organizational impact.
• Lead, coach, and grow a team of experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams.
• Strong people leadership skills with a focus on coaching and developing engineers.
• Technical background with the ability to set direction in cloud-native environments.
• Experience operating business-critical systems.
• Clear and confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be based in Lisbon, Dublin, or London

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js (NestJS) and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and messaging/email systems (SES, SMTP, Postfix).
• Familiarity with Cursor IDE, LaunchDarkly, and Sentry.
