What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deliver core database features across query processing, storage, replication, and transactions.
• Write high-quality C/C++ code with strong test coverage and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve correctness, stability, and performance issues in distributed query planning, execution, storage, and transactions.
• Improve scalability and throughput for growing cluster sizes, data volumes, and transaction rates.
• Implement performance optimizations including query plan optimization, batching, parallelism, storage efficiency, and end-to-end latency improvements.
• Contribute to the open-source hirify.globalDB project and collaborate with cross-functional teams on high-quality features.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices in distributed systems and performance engineering.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ or similar systems language.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems fundamentals, and distributed systems basics.
• Experience in database internals, storage systems, or distributed systems (replication, consensus, transactions).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with distributed systems including storage, transactional engines, or consensus protocols.
• Strong understanding of database internals like PostgreSQL, query processing, or storage engine design.
• Contributions to open-source systems or database projects.
