Senior QA Technician

TL;DR

Senior QA Technician (Platform QA): Testing technical implementation of platform-specific features and game systems across console and PC platforms with an accent on scripted/unscripted testing, defect detection, and release quality assurance. Focus on autonomous test sweeps, cross-project collaboration, platform compliance, and proactive risk identification in an Agile environment.

Hybrid in the United Kingdom (3 days a week in the studio; Work from Anywhere temporary each year with restrictions like VISAs)

What you will do

• Provide scripted and unscripted testing on game builds, covering platform implementation and in-game features.
• Work autonomously on objectives, generate tasks, and support multiple projects in Agile environment.
• Collaborate with release management, stakeholders, and development teams to deliver data-driven test results.
• Create and maintain platform-related testcases and documentation for studio-wide use.
• Assess quality, flag concerns, provide signoffs on releases, and investigate player bugs.
• Act as point of contact for platform queries and assist with editor/development tools testing.

Requirements

• 3+ years in QA, preferably game development studio or full software lifecycle experience
• Considerable experience testing console platforms
• Affinity for strategy games
• Ability to self-manage, generate tasks, and handle multiple priorities
• Strong communication, relationship building, time management, and organizational skills

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of Total War games
• Experience with game build releases and first-party submissions
• Knowledge of console compliance
• Agile environment experience
• Test automation
• Tools testing and console gaming experience
