TL;DR

Principal AI Engineer (Agentic AI): Lead and design AI systems across multiple SaaS solutions following AI Design Patterns, defining technical standards and reusable patterns for reasoning, tool use, and coordinated action. Focus on building scalable AI solutions, creating playbooks and patterns to accelerate implementation, and driving enterprise-wide AI enablement with measurable business impact.

Location: Remote with required travel to Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices for onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual meetings.

Salary: CAD $169,000 - $188,000 a year + bonus + benefits

What you will do

• Set technical vision and reference architecture for agentic AI across applications, defining standards for reasoning loops, tool use, memory, safety, and interoperability.
• Build and govern reusable platform components like model broker, multi-model routing, orchestration services, evaluation harnesses, prompt stores, and telemetry.
• Develop advanced prompting strategies for LLMs, test and evaluate GenAI models performance.
• Drive cross-functional roadmaps, integration standards, API contracts, cost/performance optimization, and mentor engineers.
• Establish evaluation methodologies for agent behavior and safety with dashboards tied to business outcomes.
• Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases, coach vendors, mentor teams, and lead governance of AI solutions.

Requirements

• Proven leadership shipping agentic AI at scale across multiple products, setting organization-wide standards.
• Expertise in Agentic AI tech stack: Microsoft (Foundry, AI Search, OpenAI, RAG, CoPilot Studio) and Anthropic (Claude).
• Advanced Python & Java in production systems, extending frameworks like Anthropic, Langchain, Foundry.
• RAG/agent data pipeline expertise: document preprocessing, chunking, embeddings, vector stores, evaluation.
• Model serving, cost/performance optimization, multi-model routing.
• Extensive knowledge of enabling AI in SaaS landscape.
