Location: Remote, USA with required travel to Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices for onboarding, team events, and meetings.

Salary: $183,200 - $203,500 USD a year + bonus + benefits

What you will do

• Lead design and implementation of scalable streaming data pipelines
• Engineer and optimize real-time data solutions using Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and AI teams to make data a strategic asset
• Advance modernization with event-driven architectures and cloud-native technologies
• Drive data governance, observability, performance tuning for streaming workloads
• Embed data quality through schema contracts, tests, assertions, and automated checks

Requirements

• 10+ years in software/data engineering, including 4+ years in streaming/real-time systems
• Experience driving technical direction, mentoring, and hands-on delivery of high-scale solutions
• Deep expertise in Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, event-driven architectures, distributed systems
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerized deployments
• Data quality practices, CI/CD, schema management, testing (dbt, Great Expectations)
• Observability with metrics, logging, tracing, alerting; data governance, Lakehouse (Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Hudi)
