TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (Java/React): Develop and optimize production-grade backend and UI features for healthcare platform with an accent on scalable APIs, database performance, and test-driven development. Hybrid: Must reside within commutable distance to Mississauga, Ontario office (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly in-office events required). Travel to Salt Lake City office possible for events.
$156,000 - $174,000 CAD + bonus + benefits

What you will do
- Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks across software development lifecycle.
- Iterate on requirements with business stakeholders and develop clean, efficient code.
- Automate tasks, analyze/debug systems, and perform test-driven validation.
- Review code collaboratively and ensure software uses latest technologies.
- Collaborate with teams and vendors to improve products.
Requirements
- Experience writing clean, scalable Java code and UI development with React.
- Experience with Spring Boot, relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL), and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in TDD, GIT, system/performance monitoring (New Relic, DataDog), and automated testing (Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured).
- Strong organization, critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science or related; proven experience as engineer.
Nice to have
- Selenium automation and cloud experience (AWS/Azure).
- Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Ansible, Jenkins CI/CD.
- Linux/IP networking, SAML/OAuth/OpenID, scripting (Python, Bash, Groovy).
- SaaS product experience, SOA, on-call, mentoring.
- Generative AI code assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
