Field Service Technician III (Electrical Switchgear)

Field Service Technician III (Electrical Switchgear): Hands-on installation, modification, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV switchgear components and subassemblies in data centers and industrial sites with an accent on electrical circuits, power cabling, control wiring, and networking equipment. Focus on troubleshooting issues, coordinating solutions with project managers, and performing preventive maintenance during extensive field travel.

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. 75% travel required, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation: $36.30–$52.80 per hour

What you will do

• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components like panelboards, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear, and control wiring.
• Perform basic testing (visual, ductor) and commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment at customer sites.
• Coordinate with project managers and manufacturing to resolve product or commissioning issues and source parts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, field installations, and modifications to existing equipment.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical product support.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in manufacturing, data centers, or field service with commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear (required for Level 3).
• Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems (required for Level 3).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3).
• Ability to travel 75%, work independently, evenings, and weekends.
• Technical degree or equivalent; strong communication and team skills.
