Salary: $170,000–$193,000 per year

What you will do
- Direct technical strategy and architectural decisions for scalable, robust systems enabling rapid experimentation.
- Guide product cycles from prototype to launch, establishing processes for high-quality delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and grow engineering team through 1:1s, coaching, and performance management.
- Build cross-functional relationships with non-technical colleagues for alignment and collaboration.
- Shape processes for short/long-term projects and AI integration in workflows.
- Build AI-powered features tackling democracy challenges like elections security.
Requirements
- 10+ years software engineering experience, including 5+ years direct people management
- Track record leading/scaling high-performing teams across initiatives
- Excellent team/project management for clarity on priorities
- Experience with prompt engineering and vision for AI tooling integration
- Strong technical foundation in software development and architecture
- Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Passion for using technology/AI to strengthen democracy
