Location: Remote, USA only. US Citizenship required and all work to be performed within the United States

Salary: $250,000-$290,000

What you will do

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team of 10+ senior engineers with focus on mentorship and delivery practices.
• Set technical vision and execution strategy across full stack including frontend, backend, data platforms, and AI integrations.
• Drive experimentation and innovation while maintaining reliability, security, and healthy practices.
• Partner with researchers to translate algorithms into scalable production systems.
• Own engineering delivery including roadmaps, standards, and architectural decisions.
• Oversee end-to-end complex systems and champion engineering at leadership level.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams in high-growth or startup environments
• Strong technical background in modern web architectures, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud platforms
• Experience bringing complex AI, optimization, or data-intensive systems to production
• Track record of setting technical direction and shipping products
• Ability to operate in ambiguous spaces and translate goals into strategies
• Experience in DoD, IC, federal or regulated environments; knowledge of CUI, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, DFARS
• Experience with secure SDLC/DevSecOps, vulnerability management, and auditability

Nice to have

• Experience integrating with Python-based AI workflows
• Familiarity with DevOps, observability, and reliability practices
• Experience with real-time systems and data-intensive applications
• Knowledge of Algebraic Modeling Languages and Solvers (Pyomo, GAMS, etc.)
• Experience with RMF, ATO, ITAR/EAR
