Financial Controller (Finance): Managing full-cycle accounting and commercial finance for a growing SME energy business with an accent on monthly management accounts, budgeting, and group reporting. Focus on improving internal controls, leading external audits, and building a new finance team from the ground up.

Location: Hybrid (Cheadle office, 3 days per week)

Salary: £68,000 - £75,000 per annum

What you will do

• Produce monthly management accounts and group reporting packs.
• Manage external audit processes and produce statutory accounts.
• Lead all budgeting and cashflow forecasting activities.
• Improve internal controls and reporting processes within the organization.
• Recruit and develop a wider finance team as the business continues to grow.
• Handle ad-hoc project work and contribute to strategic decision making.

Requirements

• Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA required.
• Proven blend of core accounting and commercial finance skills.
• Experience in process improvement and financial reporting.
• Ability to build strong internal relationships across the organization.
• Hands-on approach to financial management.
• Must be able to work from the Cheadle office 3 days a week.
