Systems Engineer / Software Engineer (Utilities)

TL;DR

Systems Engineer / Software Engineer (Linux/Kubernetes): Owning the setup, deployment, and reliable operation of software in real customer environments with an accent on automation and system stability. Location: Located in Middle East or Eastern Europe. Must be able to work in EU core business hours (09:00–15:00 CET/CEST) and be willing to travel regularly within the Middle East.

What you will do

• Set up and configure customers' technical environments to ensure a solid foundation.
• Install and maintain software on customer systems using an automation-first mindset.
• Investigate root causes of issues to ensure high system stability and provide customer support.
• Develop scripts and automation to improve deployment repeatability and reduce manual work.
• Coordinate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to drive projects forward.
• Travel to customer sites across the Middle East for deployments and go-lives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer, Ops, Platform, or DevOps role.
• Advanced administration skills in Linux and advanced proficiency in Bash.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or SQL databases (Oracle DB, PostgreSQL or similar).
• Confident professional knowledge of English.
• Availability to work during EU core business hours.
• Strong willingness to travel regularly within the Middle East.

Nice to have

• Experience in smart metering or IoT environments.
• Ability to debug and support Java applications in production.
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka.
• Knowledge of Ansible or Puppet for automation.
• Experience with monitoring stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Basic networking fundamentals and Python scripting.
