Data Center Engineer (Trading Infrastructure)

Location: Remote; international travel required for deployments and complex troubleshooting

What you will do

• Test and compare server and networking hardware configurations for performance, stability, and compatibility.
• Own hardware acceptance through burn-in checks, firmware and BIOS baselines, and known-good configurations.
• Plan and coordinate hardware maintenance and upgrades across infrastructure sites.
• Coordinate installations and maintenance with onsite providers and contractors, review evidence, and ensure quality execution.
• Document test results, approved SKUs, configuration standards, and maintenance runbooks.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues, support spares and RMA decisions, maintain inventory documentation, and participate in scheduled on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of server hardware, including CPU, RAM, storage, NICs, firmware, BIOS, and FPGA.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and basic Linux skills for testing and benchmarking.
• Structured troubleshooting mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to solve non-standard problems.
• Ability to coordinate external parties, drive tasks to completion, document results, and make data-based recommendations.
• Willingness to travel internationally from time to time.

Nice to have

• Experience with bare-metal fleets or laboratory and burn-in testing.
• Knowledge of optics and cabling validation.
• Experience coordinating vendors and procurement, including RMAs, substitutions, and lead times.
