Lead Software Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead the technical design and architecture of payment system components, ensuring scalability and PCI DSS compliance.
• Design and implement payment gateway integrations using domain-driven design and reactive programming.
• Collaborate with InfoSec and Legal teams to ensure data classification and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers on Java development, TDD, and architectural patterns.
• Drive architectural decisions through technical RFCs, design reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production payment systems to resolve critical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 5 years of experience developing payment systems or highly regulated financial software.
• Strong expertise in Java and the ability to design complex backend services.
• Deep understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and its application to business problems.
• Knowledge of tokenization, payment gateway integrations, and PCI DSS requirements.
• Experience with TDD, BDD, and Agile/Scrum (preferably SAFe) environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure cloud services, specifically Azure Key Vault and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Proven track record of designing cloud systems at scale.
