What you will do

• Design, build, and operate telephony services managing phone numbers, carrier integrations, and SIP trunks at scale
• Develop reliable signaling and media systems bridging traditional telephony with WebRTC and AI pipelines
• Work with carriers and vendors to expand number coverage, improve routing, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with SFU, Developer Success, Infrastructure, and SDK teams to integrate voice features into developer APIs
• Monitor and optimize voice quality, latency, and reliability using observability tools
• Contribute to modern, developer-friendly APIs for telephony and media control

Requirements

• Strong senior software engineer experienced in complex, distributed systems, ideally with Go, C, or C++
• Deep understanding of APIs, backend architecture, and large-scale real-time systems
• Experience thinking beyond code to infrastructure impacts on products and developer experience
• Ideally worked on developer platforms or communications products with focus on reliability, latency, and usability
• Hands-on with protocols, packet captures, and production debugging
• Collaborate well across teams, communicate clearly, and value simplicity
