What you will do

• Design and develop high-performance platform services and API gateways (FIX, WebSocket, REST).
• Build and evolve Aeron-based messaging infrastructure for reliable, low-latency communication.
• Tackle complex distributed systems problems such as ordering guarantees and zero-downtime deployments.
• Implement active-active architectures spanning cloud regions and crash-consistent recovery.
• Optimize platform primitives to meet throughput and latency requirements for real-time trading.
• Provide reusable service infrastructure to support scalable and cost-efficient internal services.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience with deep proficiency in Go, C++, Java, or Rust.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale distributed systems from design through long-term operations.
• Strong systems-level fundamentals in concurrency, memory layout, I/O models, and network protocols.
• Experience designing systems with stringent correctness guarantees regarding ordering and consistency.
• Proven track record of leading technical decisions and navigating architectural ambiguity.
• Ability to diagnose performance issues at the socket or disk layer.

Nice to have

• Experience with Aeron or similar frameworks (Chronicle, LMAX Disruptor, ZeroMQ).
• Familiarity with the FIX protocol (4.x/5.x) or structured financial messaging.
• Background in trading infrastructure, market data systems, or latency-sensitive platforms.
• Experience with sequencer design, write-ahead logging, or custom persistence engines.
