What you will do

• Design and maintain biomedical ontologies focused on longevity and aging biomarkers using OWL, RDF, and related standards.
• Ensure alignment with established biomedical vocabularies such as SNOMED CT, LOINC, and Gene Ontology.
• Collaborate with clinical experts to translate medical knowledge into formal ontological representations.
• Partner with data engineering teams to define and contribute to ETL processes that populate the knowledge graph.
• Specify and validate APIs and reasoning capabilities (SPARQL, GraphQL) to support clinical insights.
• Utilize agentic AI to automate standardization and maximize efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biomedical informatics.
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Expertise in OWL, RDF, RDFS, SPARQL, and graph databases like Neo4j or Azure Cosmos DB.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and integration tasks.
• Experience with NLP for biomedical text mining or knowledge extraction.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data governance best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with ontology development tools like Protégé or TopBraid.
• Understanding of molecular biology, aging mechanisms, and clinical research methodologies.
• Knowledge of graph machine learning, embeddings, or knowledge-guided feature engineering.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
