What you will do

• Define the vision, strategy, and technical roadmap for simulation capacity planning and resource optimization.
• Lead the development of forecasting models to predict demand for CPU, GPU, Storage, Bandwidth, and RAM.
• Build robust capacity models, metrics, and dashboards to monitor resource utilization and identify bottlenecks.
• Propose actionable strategies for resource optimization and cost management to senior leadership and finance.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Simulation, and Product teams to understand demand drivers and usage patterns.
• Develop automated systems for demand management, quota allocation, and resource reassignment.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of experience in data science or quantitative analysis focusing on capacity planning or resource optimization.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role defining strategy and leading complex projects.
• Strong expertise in statistical modeling, time series analysis (e.g., ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing), and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Python or R and expertise in SQL with data warehousing solutions like BigQuery.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in CapEx Engineering or Cloud Services Capacity Planning (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with simulation workloads, performance analysis, and distributed systems.
• Experience with financial modeling and ROI calculations related to technical infrastructure.
• Experience building and deploying production-grade data pipelines and automation tools.
