Salary: $180,000 – $210,000

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including SaaS, AI, vendor, and producer/carrier distribution contracts.
• Provide risk assessments and actionable business guidance on contractual and regulatory implications to internal stakeholders.
• Own and optimize contracting operations by updating templates, playbooks, and tracking performance metrics.
• Advise on 50-state insurance regulations, federal/state consumer protection laws (TCPA, FCRA), and data privacy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Technology, Marketing, and Compliance teams to support compliant growth.
• Develop self-service tools and fallback positions to improve contracting turnaround time and consistency.

Requirements

• J.D. and active U.S. bar license.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house environment.
• Proven experience negotiating technology and commercial agreements.
• Background in the insurance industry or advising procurement and vendor management functions.
• Deep understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory risk within a P&C environment.
• Must be located in or able to work from Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, or Morristown, NJ.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with insurance distribution agreements (producer/carrier relationships).
• Experience working specifically with SaaS, AI, or insurtech vendors.
• Experience improving legal workflows or implementing contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
