Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Own the RL environment roadmap, aligning execution with customer needs and model capabilities.
• Oversee the development of sandboxed environments (terminal, browser) for deterministic agent interaction.
• Ensure reliability and data integrity through strong instrumentation, logging, and trajectory capture.
• Drive infrastructure excellence across containerization, sandboxing, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Partner with AI labs and internal product teams to define task design and evaluation protocols.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Python.
• 2+ years of experience managing or leading engineers in fast-paced environments.
• Strong experience with containerization and sandboxing (Docker, Firecracker, or similar).
• Solid understanding of reinforcement learning fundamentals (MDPs, reward design, action spaces).
• Background in infrastructure, developer tooling, or distributed systems.
• Must be based in or able to work from the San Francisco Bay Area or Wrocław, Poland (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience building RL environments (Gym, PettingZoo) or agent benchmarks (SWE-bench, WebArena).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS).
• Prior experience in AI/ML platforms or research environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects in RL, agents, or developer tooling.
