Lead Cloud Operations Engineer (AWS)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely each week

What you will do

• Maintain, monitor, and support large-scale production infrastructure across AWS, Windows, Linux, VMware, and physical datacenter platforms.
• Administer AWS resources and services, including IAM, to maintain security, availability, and operational excellence.
• Diagnose and resolve medium-to-high complexity infrastructure, operating system, and application incidents.
• Manage Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, FTP, patching, upgrades, provisioning, capacity, and resource sizing.
• Analyze operational metrics and implement improvements to platform stability, performance, and efficiency.
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform datacenter activities such as cabling, racking, hardware maintenance, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting large-scale production infrastructure environments.
• 5+ years of hands-on Windows Server administration and server hardware and operating systems support.
• Strong experience securing and managing RHEL, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux servers.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Domains, DNS, operating system patching, and structured change management.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.

• Experience with PCI-DSS or Cyber Essentials compliant environments.
• Experience with AWS EKS, ECS, enterprise relational databases, or AWS monitoring.
• Infrastructure automation experience with Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage, Okta, Cisco UCS, PowerShell, or vendor-managed infrastructure.
