What you will do
- Own technical direction within your workstream, aligning with broader architectural strategy.
- Mentor senior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design discussions to raise the technical bar.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder projects from scoping to iteration.
- Write production-quality code consistently as a hands-on individual contributor.
- Ensure reliability and observability of systems, leading postmortems and improving operational practices.
- Identify and resolve technical debt to maintain long-term system health.
Requirements
- Must be based in London or Paris.
- Strong understanding of web development and frontend/backend best practices, specifically with TypeScript, React, NextJS, NodeJS, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience in VC-backed or high-growth engineering teams building customer-facing products.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with high pace and ambiguity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in both French and English.
- Experience in Fintech, payments, wallets, or building ledgers.
- Expertise in security and data protection best practices for FCA regulated businesses.
