TL;DR

Senior Cloud Database Engineer (SQL Server): Ensure SQL Server database performance and availability in a 24x7 environment with an accent on installation, configuration, tuning, backup, recovery, security, and replication. Focus on managing multiple mission-critical databases, implementing availability groups, and TSQL programming.

Location: Philippines - Manila (hirify.global-FLEX hybrid: 2 days office, 3 days remote)

What you will do

  • Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain, and manage multiple SQL Server databases.
  • Perform database and application tuning for optimal performance.
  • Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor SQL databases and replication.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years maintaining SQL Server mission-critical databases.
  • 5+ years of TSQL programming.
  • 2+ years implementing and maintaining database replication.
  • 2+ years implementing and maintaining SQL Server Availability Groups.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical people, strong problem-solving skills, and meet deadlines.
