TL;DR

Hone Machinist I - 3rd Shift (Precision Machining): Perform honing and machining on a wide variety of aircraft parts with diverse configurations and complexity, holding tolerances to .0001. Focus on inspecting work for defects, participating in work planning and problem resolution within the team, and operating various machining equipment as needed.

$22.00–$27.00 Hourly (Buffalo, NY)

What you will do

  • Work on diverse parts building broad machining experience across lathes, mills, grinders, and honing equipment.
  • Operate equipment outside your primary expertise as needed.
  • Participate in work planning and problem-solving within the team.
  • Inspect all performed work, detect defects, unusual conditions, and errors in blueprints or operation sheets.
  • Contribute to team productivity, cooperation, data collection, and positive attitude.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred; otherwise demonstrated ability to understand English instructions and basic math.
  • One year relevant experience including 6 months deburring small parts.
  • Demonstrated experience holding tolerances of .0001.
  • Ability to use adjustable measuring instruments like bore mics and air gages.
  • Enrollment in company’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program required for Safety Sensitive Work.

Nice to have

  • Experience using Sunnen Honing Machine.
  • Flat Lap machining experience.
