Metrology Technician

TL;DR

Metrology Technician: Performing, documenting gauge calibration recall, receiving, in-process and final inspections to ensure conformance to requirements with an accent on GD&T, Metrology principles, MSA, GR&R, and SPC. Focus on resolving issues from operators and engineers, training inspectors, participating in tooling projects, and identifying cost reductions using Lean Manufacturing.

Expected Pay Range $26 - $30 USD

What you will do

• Apply GD&T, Metrology, MSA, GR&R, SPC to ensure product gauging meets requirements.
• Resolve issues and answer questions from operators, inspectors, and engineers.
• Train other inspectors and technicians.
• Participate in special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and gages.
• Identify cost reduction projects using Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Assist with inspection instructions, provide support across departments, perform part inspections and FAIs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of reading blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency in mechanical inspection tools: calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, surface plates, microscopes, profilometers.
• Good verbal/written communication, data entry, detail-oriented.
• Teamwork, strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), understands travelers and work instructions.
• Problem-solving, multi-tasking in fast-paced manufacturing; physical ability to stand long periods, lift 50 lbs, pass grip test, specific visual acuity (near, far, depth, color, field).
