TL;DR

Hone Machinist I - 1st Shift: Perform precision honing and machining on diverse aircraft parts with an accent on holding tight tolerances of .0001 and using measuring instruments like bore mics and air gages. Location: Onsite – Buffalo, NY. Participation in FAA Drug & Alcohol Program required for Safety Sensitive Work.

Salary: $22.00–$27.00 Hourly (Buffalo, NY)

What you will do

  • Work on a wide variety of parts with diverse configurations and complexity to build broad machining experience.
  • Operate honing machines and other equipment like lathes, mills, and grinders as needed.
  • Participate in work planning and problem resolution within the team.
  • Inspect all work, detect defective materials, deviant parts, and errors in blueprints or operation sheets.
  • Contribute to teamwork through productivity, cooperation, data collection, and positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Onsite in Buffalo, NY; enrollment in FAA Drug & Alcohol Program required
  • High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand English instructions and basic math.
  • One year relevant experience, including 6 months deburring small parts.
  • Demonstrated experience holding tolerances of .0001.
  • Ability to use adjustable measuring instruments such as bore mics and air gages.
  • U.S. export-controlled information access required
