TL;DR

Senior Planner - Children and Families (Charity): Leading the development and interpretation of insight to shape strategy and priorities for children and young people with an accent on research, analysis, and policy influencing. Focus on leveraging insight to build expertise, drive action across teams, and maximize impact through strategic communications and partnerships.

Location: London/Salford – hybrid. There will be some travel involved between these sites.

Salary: £43,000-49,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

What you will do

  • Lead development and interpretation of insight to shape strategy and priorities for children and young people.
  • Develop ongoing insight into children’s needs and leverage it across teams to build expertise and drive action.
  • Conduct thematic research and analysis on children’s needs to inform decisions and partnerships.
  • Partner with colleagues to ensure external communications and influencing are insight-informed.
  • Shape partnership opportunities using strategic priorities and insight.
  • Advise on impact communications and provide insight for policy work.

Requirements

  • Experience in the children and young people’s sector in a research capacity, understanding key issues.
  • Demonstrable interest in and understanding of the UK public policy environment for children and young people.
  • Strong analytical skills to distil insight from various sources into actionable stories and briefings.
  • Strategic thinking on delivering change for children and leveraging insight internally and externally.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to tell compelling stories.
