What you will do

• Own operations and administration of end-to-end data platform including ingestion, storage, and data serving layers.
• Drive architecture and implementation of platform modernization with streaming systems, lakehouse design, and data-serving APIs.
• Unify real-time and historical data with strong quality guarantees and define standardized data contracts for downstream use.
• Set standards for performance, cost efficiency, reliability, and observability across Spark, SQL, and streaming workloads.
• Lead, mentor, and grow teams of Data Engineers and Platform Engineers, including hiring and career development.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to align platform with business outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years building distributed data systems, with 3+ years leadership owning scaled data platforms.
• Experience with data contracts, event schemas, data quality, and governance at scale.
• Deep expertise in real-time systems like AWS Kinesis and Spark Structured Streaming.
• Strong command of Databricks on AWS (Delta Lake, clusters, jobs), S3, IAM, and data-serving architectures.
• Advanced Python and SQL for guiding high-performance pipelines and platform design.
• Proven platform modernization reducing technical complexity at scale.
