TL;DR

Local Business Leader - Senior Hydrogeologist (Water Resources): Managing and developing sustainable water supply solutions with an accent on wellfield development, aquifer characterization, and regulatory compliance. Focus on solving complex groundwater scarcity, saltwater intrusion, and brine management challenges.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in or be able to relocate to Austin, Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio, TX

What you will do

  • Provide professional hydrogeological support for domestic and international water resource projects.
  • Evaluate and interpret complex geologic and hydrogeologic data to develop sustainable water supply solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams while ensuring technical work meets client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and guide early-career professionals in technical methods, fieldwork, and reporting.
  • Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Collaborate with clients and regulators to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science, or Environmental Science.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in hydrogeology or environmental geology.
  • Licensed Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience with aquifer characterization, storage and recovery, or injection well systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state water regulations and permitting processes.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geosystems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in GIS tools, data visualization, and geospatial analysis.
  • Industry certifications such as PMP or EAM Technical certifications.
  • Experience with desalination and brine management strategies.
