Lead Fullstack Engineer (React, Node.js)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across the full stack using React, Node.js, and the database layer.
• Drive architectural decisions regarding API design, data modeling, service boundaries, and caching strategies.
• Establish and maintain high code quality standards through reviews, tooling, and best practices.
• Design and maintain scalable search infrastructure, specifically focusing on Algolia.
• Mentor mid-level engineers while maintaining strong individual technical contributions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and leadership teams to deliver high-impact features.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React (hooks, modern patterns, performance optimization).
• Proficient backend development experience with Node.js and designing REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including indexing and query optimization.
• Experience with caching systems (Redis) and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Work authorization: Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Algolia.
• Experience with Next.js, React Server Components, or micro-frontend architectures.
• Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience with domain-driven design or clean architecture principles.
