What you will do

  • Perform file reviews and occupational analysis to determine whether an insured meets the definition of disability.
  • Conduct procedure code reviews to determine activities for medical and dental providers pre and post onset of disability.
  • Coordinate functional capacity evaluations and professional reviews.
  • Execute transferable skills analysis and labor market research to identify reasonable occupations in specific areas.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to identify tools and resources that expedite return-to-work (RTW) efforts.
  • Conduct ongoing research on occupations, labor market trends, and state laws regarding vocational rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling (or currently pursuing with anticipated graduation in 2026 or 2027).
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) designation or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be located in or able to work onsite in Springfield, MA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

  • 1+ years of vocational rehabilitation experience, ideally in disability management.
  • Familiarity with labor market analysis tools and vocational assessment methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of return-to-work (RTW) best practices and HR topics.
