Instructional Designer (L&D)

TL;DR

Instructional Designer (L&D): Creating engaging learning experiences and computer-based training modules to empower internal talent with an accent on adult learning principles and digital content delivery. Focus on leading the implementation of leadership and soft skills courses, managing LMS administration, and integrating AI technologies.

Location: Not a remote position. Must be based in or relocate to Hawthorne, CA; Redmond, WA; Brownsville, Bastrop, or McGregor, TX

What you will do

• Design and develop computer-based training (CBT) modules aligned with adult learning principles.
• Partner with subject matter experts to create content for online courses, SharePoint pages, and videos.
• Optimize existing learning products based on learner feedback and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Administer the Learning Management System (LMS), providing support and troubleshooting SCORM/AICC issues.
• Lead the development of courses focused on leadership, HR, health and safety, and soft skills.
• Maintain SharePoint intranet sites and develop metrics to evaluate course effectiveness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in training curriculum design and development.
• 2+ years of experience managing and utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements).
• Ability to relocate to one of the major site locations if not already local.
• Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with authoring tools like Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, or iSpring Studio.
• Experience with multimedia software (Vyond, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Camtasia).
• Video production skills, including recording, editing, and voiceover.
• Project management experience using Jira or Microsoft tools.
• Expertise in adult learning theories and evaluation frameworks.
