What you will do

• Lead and grow a high-performing ML Vision team responsible for core license plate recognition and vehicle intelligence models.
• Architect and guide improvements in model accuracy, robustness, and generalization across diverse real-world conditions.
• Oversee the full ML lifecycle, including data strategy, training pipelines, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Partner cross-functionally with product, hardware, and platform teams to translate business priorities into a technical roadmap.
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and architectural guidance.
• Balance forward-looking innovation with operational excellence to address model drift and technical debt.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience in Machine Learning with deep expertise in computer vision.
• Proven track record of leading engineers through formal management or strong technical mentorship.
• Hands-on proficiency in PyTorch and modern deep learning workflows (training, fine-tuning, evaluation).
• Demonstrated ownership of ML initiatives end-to-end in real-world production systems.
• Solid engineering fundamentals in Python for building reliable, maintainable systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification, including a fingerprint-based background check.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying computer vision systems for edge environments (traffic cameras, embedded systems).
• Familiarity with large-scale model retraining workflows and model drift detection.
• Experience in model compression techniques (distillation, quantization, pruning).
• Exposure to multi-GPU or distributed training workflows.
