Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Milpitas, California, USA; onsite

Salary: $136,300–$231,700 annually

What you will do

• Support product safety, regulatory compliance, and certification activities for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Perform hazard analyses using FMEA/FMECA, PHA, and HAZOP, and help define risk-reduction measures.
• Review mechanical, electrical, and software designs for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support CE marking deliverables, including risk assessments, technical file inputs, and Declarations of Conformity.
• Coordinate product safety, EMC, and electrical testing with third-party agencies such as TÜV, UL, and CSA.
• Investigate safety incidents, analyze safety-related data, maintain compliance documentation, and support safety training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in product safety, regulatory compliance, or a related engineering field.
• Working knowledge of SEMI S2 or similar industrial safety standards and the CE marking framework.
• Experience with hazard analysis techniques such as FMEA, PHA, or HAZOP.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment or complex industrial machinery.
• Exposure to ISO 12100, ISO 13849, or IEC 62061.
• Experience supporting compliance testing or working with certification bodies.
