Manager / Senior Manager of Payroll and T&E

Location: Torrance, United States; onsite. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Salary: $130,000–$190,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing for a rapidly growing employee base.
• Maintain payroll records and oversee tax filings, reconciliations, W-2 preparation, and year-end close activities.
• Partner with HR on hires, terminations, leaves of absence, compensation changes, and benefits deductions.
• Administer the travel and expense program, including policy governance, expense reviews, approvals, reimbursements, and corporate card administration.
• Manage relationships with payroll and T&E platform vendors, including Ramp and Navan.
• Improve payroll and expense systems, controls, reporting, integrations, and employee education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of payroll experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, including multi-state payroll.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Experience administering a corporate travel and expense program.
• Proficiency with a major payroll system such as ADP, Workday, or Rippling, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.

Nice to have

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
• Experience with Rippling and expense management tools such as Ramp.
• Experience supporting compensation planning, audits, or system implementations with HR and Finance.
• Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, or international payroll processing.
