TL;DR

Design Imagineer (Design Systems/AI): Building and evolving design systems and AI-enabled tooling for healthcare platform with an accent on unifying design and code, accelerating prototyping, and empowering designers to ship production experiences. Focus on inventing AI-native workflows, reducing friction between design and engineering, and elevating craft across interaction, motion, performance, and accessibility.

Location: Hybrid from SF or NYC office at least 3x per week. Relocation assistance available to San Francisco or New York.

Salary: $216,750 – $255,000 (SF Bay area or NYC metro) + equity

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable design system unifying design and code for speed, consistency, and creativity.
• Build AI-powered tools using LLMs for prototyping, iteration, and redefining design processes.
• Create workflows enabling designers to go from concept to production without technical barriers.
• Elevate quality in interaction, motion, performance, and accessibility across the stack.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product leaders to shape and execute product direction.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work hybrid from SF or NYC office 3x per week.
• 5–10+ years in design engineering, design systems, creative technologist, or frontend engineering roles.
• Experience building scalable design systems across teams and products.
• Fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React.
• Strong product/design sensibility for interaction, visual polish, and UX.
• Prototyping skills in code or design tools; curiosity for AI/LLM tools.
• Builder mindset comfortable with ambiguity and cross-discipline collaboration.

Nice to have

• Built internal tools for designers/engineers.
• Experience with AI/ML products or generative interfaces.
• Background in motion or brand design systems.
