Composite Technician

Salary: $40,400–$42,500 ($19.41/hr 1st shift, $20.41/hr 2nd shift)

What you will do

• Assist in preparing molds and forms, marking and cutting materials like tape, honeycomb and adhesives to templates.
• Route, drill, trim and sand parts to blueprint dimensions; vacuum bag for curing.
• Lay up composite materials, fit and smooth layers to avoid defects.
• Assemble aircraft components with adhesives, rivets and fasteners.
• Prepare surfaces, paint components and apply epoxy/urethane coatings using spray gun.
• Maintain records, check material expiration, mix resins and keep work area orderly.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints, comprehend instructions and perform simple math.
• Familiar with machinist hand tools and measuring instruments; may require respirator certification.
• Mechanically inclined with attention to detail; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in loud environment, extended hours; US Citizen required; reliable and on time.
