Lab Assistant

TL;DR

Lab Assistant (Microbiology): Support short- and long-term projects including preparation of reagents and media for assays with an accent on laboratory maintenance, equipment validation, and compliance with cGMP. Focus on ensuring clean and safe lab environment, assisting in SOP drafting, and collaborating on data analysis and interpretation.

Location: Onsite in Kennesaw, GA (30152)

What you will do

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Conduct equipment validation and maintenance checks.
• Prepare media and reagents for weekly workload.
• Assist in drafting SOPs for new protocols and comply with documentation.
• Collaborate with team to compile, analyze, and interpret data.
• Contribute to intra/interdepartmental projects and stay familiar with scientific literature.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related; or HS diploma/GED with 1 year lab experience
• Prior lab experience in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or chemistry
• Familiarity with media and reagent preparation
• Competency in lab techniques: unit conversions, pipetting, weighing, serial dilutions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Quality Control and cGMP
• Experience with autoclave
• Experience with serial dilutions and media/reagent preparations
