Civil Project Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA, US; other listed locations include Richmond, VA, US; Cincinnati, OH, US; and Coraopolis, PA, US. Flexible hybrid work is supported.

What you will do

• Assist with managing civil engineering and land development projects from concept through construction, including schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Serve as a key contact for clients, contractors, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.
• Lead and prepare civil engineering designs and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including site layouts, grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and drainage analyses.
• Prepare reports, specifications, feasibility studies, permitting applications, technical documentation, proposals, scopes, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and agency reviews, manage municipal land development and zoning applications, and support construction administration.
• Provide technical guidance, quality control reviews, mentoring, and support for project priorities, team goals, safety, accountability, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 4–8 years of experience in engineering design and project coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with site planning, grading design, stormwater management, utility design, erosion and sediment control, and permitting.
• Strong understanding of state and municipal approval processes and land development regulations.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and client communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience leading complex or large-scale engineering projects.
• Professional Engineer license, EIT certification, or ability to obtain licensure in the near term.
