Transportation Engineer

Location: Onsite in Minot, Williston, or Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Salary: $75,000–$105,000 per year, DOE, with overtime paid at the base hourly rate for hours worked over 40 per week.

What you will do

• Plan, develop, and implement transportation projects involving roadways, highways, bridges, airports, and transit systems.
• Prepare transportation plans, construction documents, technical reports, and client proposals.
• Analyze and model traffic flow patterns to identify safety and efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with contractors, the Department of Transportation, public agencies, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and verify design accuracy during project delivery.
• Use OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk Civil 3D to support transportation and civil engineering design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis on transportation.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license within 12 months of employment or an existing North Dakota PE license.
• 3–6 years of transportation or civil engineering design and consulting experience.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, traffic analysis, and infrastructure modeling skills.
