TL;DR

Manager, People Relations: Lead global employee relations strategy and manage a team of ER professionals, overseeing complex investigations and advising on performance, accommodations, and organizational health with an accent on balancing legal risks, employee experience, and business priorities. Focus on designing scalable ER processes, data-driven trend analysis, and elevating manager capabilities in handling employee matters.

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY hubs, or remote in the United States. Priority for candidates in the Bay Area or willing to relocate to San Francisco.

Salary: $169,000 - $296,000 USD (annual base)

What you will do

  • Design and execute global employee relations strategy aligned with company values, risks, and growth plans.
  • Manage and develop a distributed team of 4 ER professionals, balancing local nuances with global standards.
  • Lead or oversee high-risk investigations in partnership with Employment Legal.
  • Advise on complex accommodation, leave, and performance matters across teams.
  • Serve as strategic partner to People Partners and senior leaders on risk, performance, and organizational health.
  • Own ER data reporting, trend analysis, and process improvements for efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years progressive employee relations experience, including people management in global contexts.
  • Proven track record influencing senior leaders as a trusted advisor.
  • Experience leading complex, high-risk investigations, preferably in and outside the US.
  • In-depth knowledge of US employment laws (ADA, ADEA, FMLA), CA/NY regulations, and global employment laws.
  • Exceptional judgment, decision-making, writing, and communication in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience in high-growth, pre-IPO/IPO, or M&A environments.
  • Comfort with Google Workspace, hirify.global products, and Workday.
