What you will do

• Own end-to-end system design for major product initiatives from specification to production.
• Define and evolve backend architecture for scalable compliance platforms with multi-workspace and RBAC features.
• Lead development of AI-powered products, integrating LLM and agentic workflows.
• Design and optimize relational databases and SQL performance for high-scale systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and improve engineering practices and reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years backend/product engineering with ownership of large-scale systems
• Strong experience in end-to-end system architectures in production
• Hands-on with AI/ML features including LLM and RAG systems
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate (or equivalents)
• Relational DB design, SQL optimization, scalable data modeling
• Experience leading design discussions and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication for remote distributed teams
• Ability to work effectively within European time zones

Nice to have

• Experience in fully remote startups or early-stage products
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools like Cursor, Claude
• Multi-language backend stacks
