TL;DR

Subcontracts Representative: Develops and administers mildly complex subcontracts in support of proposals and projects with an accent on bid evaluation, negotiation, and compliance management. Focus on coordinating awards, running kick-off meetings, handling change management, processing invoices, and performing closeouts.

Location: Overland Park, KS, US (office/field environment). Relocation eligible: No. Ability to travel required.

What you will do

  • Handle mildly complex subcontracts including filing records and using applicable software.
  • Prepare bid documents, manage bidders list, evaluate bids, and recommend awards.
  • Coordinate negotiations, resolve commercial terms, and ensure prequalification compliance.
  • Run kick-off and progress meetings, draft correspondence, and manage changes for assigned subcontracts.
  • Review and process invoices, and perform subcontract closeouts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, or related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
  • Two years of relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Analytical/organizational skills, strong written/oral communication, general computer skills including Microsoft suite.
  • Knowledge of construction disciplines, commercial terms/conditions, and company processes.
  • Willingness to work in office/field environment, travel, and physical demands like standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Complete pre-employment onboarding including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Nice to have

  • Initiative, self-starter qualities, attention to detail, interpersonal and mathematical skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and knowledge of construction means/methods/equipment.
